Georgetown, Penang (05 Aug 2015) – Since opening its doors in 1986, Penang Butterfly Farm (PBF) has been part of Penang’s booming tourism industry and played host to over 4 million visitors. In March this year, the shutters came down temporarily to make way for a major redevelopment. Today, we are awakening to a brand new day.
Welcome to history in the making, as The Tropical World’s 1st Live Butterfly and Insect Sanctuary reinvents and rebrands itself, setting a new global benchmark as a Nature Learning Destination. From this day on, Penang Butterfly Farm will be known as Entopia.
The event which is themed, “ A Brand New Day” was organised by the management of Penang Butterfly Farm for its staff to embrace a new and exciting future. The stage was set for this meaningful event at the Hin Bus Depot Art Centre Penang on the 5th of August 2015. Preempting the new brand reveal, Joseph Goh, Chief Executive Officer and founder’s son, shared his vision for an immersive and experiential learning destination of the future.
While PBF is transforming and reinventing, their premises in Teluk Bahang will be closed for the redevelopment. Re-opening is planned for early 2016. By then, every visitor who has shared fond memories within its sanctuary in the past, will soon realise that that same doors will open to a whole new world of “Nature Learning”. In fact, two new worlds – indoor and outdoor – with different experiences designed to thrill and inspire.
“Entopia is more than a new name and logo, for Penang Butterfly Farm, it’s a brand that stands for everything we believe in. We want to stand for all the “Voices of Nature”.

According to Joseph Goh, the organisation has also identified four strategic pillars on which to strengthen its business, namely to be the community game changer, the industry springboard, the place to be and a great place to work.
