Job Summary:

To work together as part of the Nature Education team, while conducting nature learning programmes for schools, organisations and the public in general, including foreign tourists.

Responsibilities:

  • To conduct nature learning programmes and activities including outreach programmes, workshops, camps, events and tasks related to the Education Team for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly programs/events.
  • To handle visiting groups including but not limited to students from kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, tertiary schools as well as the general public.
  • To handle phone/email/fax/letter/walk-in enquiries relating to education matters and reply within a timely manner.
  • To plan and propose new nature learning programmes and modules, while promoting the existing nature learning programmes to teachers and schools/institutions/others.
  • To follow-up with schools/institutions/other representatives to confirm details of programmes and/or visits.
  • To receive and handle payments tactfully from schools/institutions/other representatives for visits and/or programmes, and settle payments with finance at the end of the day.
  • To brief schools/institutions/other groups on programme schedule, rules, regulations, etc. upon arrival.
  • To prepare necessary materials and props for educational programmes and/or workshops.
  • To learn and carry out husbandry duties to care for the animals i.e. feeding, cleaning and maintaining the good conditions of the animals.To plan and propose new nature learning programmes and modules, while promoting the existing nature learning programmes to teachers and schools/institutions/others.

Requirements:

  • Trustworthy, able to handle children and be able to hold their attention.
  • Have people skills, friendly, patient and caring.
  • Love nature and teaching.
  • Creative, well spoken, flexible and willing to learn new things.
  • Able to multi-task, independent and have good time management.
  • Willing to handle live amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates.

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Biological Science, Education, Mass Communications, or equivalent.
  • Fresh grads are encouraged to apply.
  • Required languages: English, and Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and prepare all basic food items
  • Help to prepare daily mise-en-place
  • Pick up food orders
  • Keep the work area clean and tidy
  • Adhere strictly to safety and sanitation regulations

Requirements:

  • Possess at least a Certificate in Culinary course or F&B
  • At least 1 year experience in kitchen operation
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Willing to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, creating, maintaining and beautification of outdoor garden, landscape, green wall and outside spaces
  • Responsible for the health, care and appearance of variety of plants including fertilization and pest management control
  • To handle butterfly park consultancy project with regard to landscape concept and design development with the aid of sketches, drawings and graphic presentation
  • May be required to visit proposed sites, attend site meetings and discussion with consultants and architects, etc.
  • Coordinate and participate in the proper care of the landscape and grounds and to perform tasks related to plants care.
  • Supervise subordinates; duties include assigning, reviewing and evaluating their work
  • Establish and enforce operating procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance and personnel safety
  • Assist in the selection, evaluation and determine the competent supplier for purchasing chemicals, plants and tools for the garden
  • Recommend changes in working conditions or equipment use to increase the team efficiency
  • Monitor project activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met and schedules are maintained
  • Perform administrative duties, such as authorizing leaves and overtime
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head from time to time

Requirements:

  • Possess at least a Degree in Landscaping, Botany, Agriculture or related field.
  • Preferably with 1 year experience. However, fresh graduates may also apply.
  • Experience in supervisory role will be added advantage.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Knowledge of additional languages will be an added advantage. 
  • Able to use software such as Autocad for drawing / planning / sketching will be added advantage.
