Bug Rover Penang Tour

The Bug Rover has been officially launched with overwhelming response and support from fellow Penangites. It’s maiden tour around Penang will now begin on the second half of this memorable day in Entopian history.

The first stop of the tour brings the Bug Rover to Gurney Drive, a favourite haunt among locals and foreigners alike.

Here we have a group of youngsters participating in our activities and also taking the opportunity to handle live stick insects and giant milipedes, an experience not to be had easily for modern day city folk.

After Gurney Drive, and a short lunch break, the Bug Rover crew then headed off to the next destination, Esplanade which is also a popular tourist spot and hang out place for locals.

We chanced upon a group of enthusiastic university students who were on a field trip of their own, with a mission to complete in every destination they visited. They decided to collaborate with the Bug Rover crew and make the Bug Rover their mission at Esplanade.

With quick wits and a little brain-storming, the students quickly thought up a quick performance to tell the story of the lifecycle of a butterfly, which proved to be quite entertaining to the crowd they gathered as well as the Bug Rover crew.

After a brief yet entertaining stint by the university students, it’s time for the Bug Rover to move on to the final location of the day, Karpal Singh drive.

An upcoming township that’s quickly becoming a popular recreation spot for fellow Penangites, here we see crowd which consist of the evening joggers, families out for a stroll as well as people just taking a leisurely stroll to unwind.

The Bug Rover was a welcome sight to them, adding some excitement to the usual scenery.

Adults and children alike were entertained and amused by our friendly stick insects and giant katydid, which is prominently shown on the right side of the Bug Rover. Even though the insects are native to Malaysia, however few have the chance to come into close contact with them, which is what the Bug Rover is meant to do. Bringing nature closer to you!
